The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the Industrial Property Office of the Business Development Agency of the Principality of Monaco have aligned their practice on assessing public policy and accepted principles of morality.
In Monaco, a trademark can be acquired through use. However, filing the trademark with the Office is the only way to benefit from the advantages of registration.
As part of the policy of continuous improvement of the services offered to users of industrial property rights, the Business Development Agency is making it possible for the public to file a request for a change of address of a trademark owner electronically.
Any natural person or representative of a legal entity can file an application to register a trademark with the Office, either directly or via an agent. The applicant will be the holder of the trademark.
